Belmar Library Hosts Exhibition Celebrating Teen Artists

Teens: Submit your art by Aug. 25!

Show off your artistic side at Belmar Library's Teen Art Exhibition! Jefferson County teens ages 12 – 18 are invited to display their art at the Belmar Library in September. There is no theme for this exhibit — just show off your best art!

Artists can submit up to three pieces of artwork for consideration. All mediums are accepted, including paintings, photography, digital artwork and drawings. All selected artwork must arrive framed and ready to hang with a hook on the back. For canvas artwork, please make sure it is wired on the back so we can hang it on a hook. Due to space limitations, ceramics and other three-dimensional works will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Selected artwork will be displayed in the Belmar Library from Sept. 1 – 30.

This exhibition celebrates the talented teen artists in our community by displaying their work in a public space for the entire month of September. It is a wonderful opportunity for local teens to round out their college portfolios, build connections within their community and show off their passions. A closing reception will take place to celebrate these talented teen artists on Wednesday, Sept. 20, opens a new window, where you can learn all about the art on display and the artists who created it.

Please submit images of your artwork to Teen Librarian Jayna via email or library drop off by Aug. 25.

Each submission must include the following information:

  • Artist's Name
  • Age
  • Grade
  • School
  • Title
  • Medium
  • Dimensions

Artists will be notified if their artwork is selected for inclusion in the exhibition no later than Aug. 28. Selected artworks must be dropped off at the Belmar Library for installation by Aug. 31.
