PowerOn Jeffco

PowerOn Jeffco is a Jefferson County Public Library program that provides basic digital literacy training in both English and Spanish to families across Jefferson County.

Launched in 2024, PowerOn was created in collaboration with Jefferson County Public Schools and several community partners to deliver six classes of basic digital literacy training focused on building essential computer skills. Upon completion, eligible participants receive a free Chromebook with internet access.

At this time, PowerOn Jeffco classes are held at community partner locations that help participants register and qualify:

All materials, including assistive technology, will be provided.

Earn a FREE Chromebook!

Upon successful completion of the program, qualified participants who provide proof of need or low-income status will receive a free Chromebook and three free months of internet access, while supplies last.

What You Need to Know

Our partners will help you navigate the qualification requirements during the application process, which include one form of identification and proof of need or low-income status. No citizenship or legal status required.

Schedule of Classes

Participants attend weekly classes for six weeks of classroom instruction. Accelerated classes are offered depending on school schedules and other factors. The accelerated classes will meet twice a week for three weeks. Each option will provide nine hours of classroom instruction.

Additional Assistance

Childcare, interpretation, assistive technology (large mouse and keyboard, TTY, Text to Speech, speech recognition), ASL and other forms of assistance are available upon request.

Duration of Free Internet Access

Free internet data is available for three months. We will notify you by email when the free internet is set to expire and send you a list of resources for low-cost internet you can access.

If you need additional support after the training is complete, email the Digital Literacy Team.
