Do you want to be a leader in your community? Join JCPL's eight-week Youth Development Program and receive $350 upon completion!
Participants of the Youth Development Program will learn leadership skills, master communication and advocacy and apply those skills to a final project. This is a great opportunity for teens to learn and practice mitigating stress and improve job readiness.
Through hands-on workshops and a final project, you will:
- Develop leadership and teamwork skills
- Learn about boundaries and healthy relationships
- Practice communication and group collaboration
- Apply your voice to real-world settings
- Earn $350 upon program completion
This program is for teens in grades 9 - 12. Participants must attend all sessions and create individual projects that showcase their newly acquired skills. Teens who complete the program will receive $350!

Get your questions answered at the Youth Development Program drop-in information session on Thursday, Sept. 3, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Arvada Balsam Temporary Library.
Once accepted into the program, teen participants and their parents and guardians are invited to a follow-up session on Monday, Sept. 22, 4:30 - 6 p.m. to complete the necessary forms and ensure a smooth start to the program!
The fun begins Thursday, Sept. 24, 4 - 6 p.m. Please bring your parent/guardian to sign needed paperwork. Subsequent sessions will be held every Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m., all held at Arvada High School (7951 W. 65th Ave., opens a new window). Final presentations will be on Nov. 17.
