Summer Reading: School Contest
You can win money for your school! Start reading, track your progress and help improve your school’s finisher rate. Every school that shows improvement over last year will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $800 towards its library!

The Summer Reading School Contest takes place June 1 - July 31. Register starting May 1.
How to Participate
When you register for JCPL’s Summer Reading, select the school you (or your child) will be attending in the fall — it’s that simple! Minutes you read and log will automatically count toward the school competition.
How to Win
Only Jefferson County Public Schools are eligible to compete. Each school will be notified of its finisher rate from last year and will work to improve this year’s rate. Every school that shows improvement will have its name entered into the $800 drawing.
School Categories
Jefferson County Library Foundation, opens a new window will award an $800 cash prize to one school from each of the following five categories:
- Preschool
- Elementary School
- Middle School
- High School
- Option/Charter/Multi-Level School
