  • General Questions

    American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is available for any JCPL program or event, including Story Time. We make every attempt to accommodate all requests but cannot guarantee those made with less than two weeks' notice. Please contact asl@jeffcolibrary.org to make this request. 

    Additionally, personal FM listening devices (function with or without hearing aids/cochlear implants) in meeting rooms at the Arvada, Belmar, Columbine, Evergreen, Golden, Lakewood and Standley Lake libraries. Please let staff know if you want to use one of these devices during a program.

    Our Assistive Technology and Digitization Workstations make web browsing and online reading more accessible for all users. The stations include software specifically designed for those who are blind/visually impaired, have difficulty typing, have dyslexia or other reading difficulties, and are deaf or hard of hearing.

    All locations have large print plugin keyboards and trackball mice available by request.

    All public computers have the built-in Windows 10 accessibility features: Magnifier, Narrator (screen reading software), On-Screen Keyboard and the ability to adjust all Ease of Access settings. Public Computers are available at all full-services locations and Express Library West Arvada, which is a self-service location, advanced registration required. 

    We have a collection of large print books and audiobooks on disc or downloadable for all ages.

    Colorado Talking Book Library, provides audio, braille and large print books. We can assist with submitting applications to this library.

    All locations are ADA compliant in design and architecture, including parking, public computer desks and walkways.

    Patrons can request Trackball Mouse available at all full-service locations.
