South County Library Location Announcement

The JCPL Board of Trustees has authorized a purchase and sale agreement on a location for the South County Library.

On Thursday, August 15, the Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) Board of Trustees authorized a purchase and sale agreement on an existing property for a new South County Library location. The property is located at 11100 Bradford Street in Littleton.

The property is approximately 64,000 square feet and once served as a beer distribution center. JCPL is excited to repurpose the now-vacant building, which will provide us with ample space for library services, outdoor connections and accessible parking areas.

The creation of an additional south Jefferson County Library will help us to better serve this growing area of the county. The goal of the new location is to provide more convenient access to library resources for community members in the area. Columbine Library will remain open.

Our next steps are to conduct due diligence before officially closing on the property. Following the property purchase, JCPL will conduct facilitated community engagement to determine a program of service for the new location. JCPL is very early in this process and will share a more detailed timeline soon.

In the meantime, we want to hear from you about the potential location. Please help us get the word out by sharing the location announcement with your friends, families and neighbors. Feedback can be sent to our South County Library Project email at southcountyproject@jeffcolibrary.org.

JCPL is so excited to bring an additional library location to this region of the County! Keep an eye on our South County Library webpage and subscribe to our email list to stay updated on the project.
