Make Prom Dreams Come True During JCPL’s 9th Annual Prom Swap

Donations accepted January 15 – February 20.

Every teen should have the opportunity to have a magical high school prom. Make a teen's big dance dreams come true with your donation of prom clothes during Jefferson County’s 9th annual Prom Swap event, where spring cleaning and prom meet! When you clean out your closet and find formal attire, Prom Swap connects local teens to their prom attire free of cost.

Donations of prom dresses, tuxedos, suits, shoes and accessories are being accepted at all JCPL libraries between January 15 and February 20. For every single item you donate, you get a ticket entitling you to brand-new prom or formal wear. These tickets are for teens to use at pop-up shops to receive new attire.

If you don’t have any formal wear, you can also donate canned goods (fruits, vegetables, beans or soups) and nonperishable foods (nut butters, rice, pasta, oatmeal and meal helpers) in exchange for formal wear tickets. Exchange five cans for dresses, tuxedos or suits, two cans for shoes and one can per accessory.

How to Donate

Donations will be accepted at all Library locations during normal operating hours, any time between January 15 and February 20. After the donation period, teens can visit pop-up shops at their Library to find everything they need to dress sharp for the prom.
