You can engage your brain, have fun and learn all in one place, with Playaway LaunchPads, mobile computer devices with preloaded content, now available for checkout at Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL)!
LaunchPads have been available for kids, opens a new window of all ages to use since 2019. Now, they’re also available to adults, and offer a variety of games, puzzles, tools and more.
“These new products really reach out to members of our community who may not have easy access to the internet or who can’t afford a tablet,” said Franca Rosen, JCPL collections supervisor. “This opens up a lot of possibilities to have technology and fun learning tools in your hands. You don’t need any special tech skills. All you need to do is plug it in, charge it and turn it on.”
The LaunchPads come preloaded with several apps that engage your brain and offer fun during your downtime. Some of the apps available include games like crossword puzzles and checkers, and fun learning tools that cover subjects like geography, math and science.
These are self-contained devices that don’t require an internet connection to use. They are available to check out at every JCPL location, or reserve them and pick them up curbside, or at hold lockers, opens a new window. Now you can check out LaunchPads for yourself and your kids to learn new things, which increases brain health, and have fun!
