After 14 years of dedicated service with Jefferson County Public Library, Executive Director Donna Walker will retire on Sept. 5.
Throughout her tenure, Donna played a pivotal role in expanding JCPL’s services, strengthening community partnerships and shaping programs that reflect what our patrons most value. Her leadership and commitment to public service have made a lasting impact on our libraries and the communities we serve.
Donna’s career is marked by an unwavering dedication to equity, access, innovation and service excellence. She helped shape public library service across Colorado, consistently placing community needs at the center of library design, service delivery and organizational strategy.
Her leadership exemplifies library service at its very best—combining vision with execution, innovation with equity and strategy with compassion.
The communities JCPL serves are stronger, more connected and more inclusive because of her work, and the profession is better because of her mentorship, teaching and thought leadership.
We wish Donna all the best in her well-earned retirement. A nationwide search is underway for JCPL’s next Executive Director to lead the library in support of connection, learning, discovery and creation.
