  • Electric Vehicle Charging

You may contact the electric vehicle charging vendor through the mobile app with any questions or concerns. Vendor contact information is also available on the charging stations.

Belmar Library's stations are serviced by Chargepoint app. Evergreen Library charging stations are serviced by SynergEV, opens a new window app. Columbine, Lakewood and Standley Lake Library are all serviced by Blink Charging App, opens a new window

When the three-hour charging period has concluded, you will receive a reminder notification from the vendor app to relocate your vehicle to make the stall accessible to other patrons.

The goal of JCPL’s charging stations is to provide free charging to patrons, while also ensuring that stalls are promptly vacated once vehicles have been charged. This approach maximizes vehicle charging availability and use and aligns with our commitment to equitable access.

JCPL provides you with three hours of complimentary charging station use. Following the free three-hour time period, a charge of $2 per 15 minutes of charging, with a maximum charge of $40, will apply. This fee is intended to ensure equitable access and maximize patron use of the charging stations.

JCPL charging stations will be available daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. In accordance with the JCPL library grounds policy, overnight parking on library property is not permitted.

Charging stations are currently located at Belmar, Columbine, Evergreen, Lakewood and Standley Lake Library. JCPL will share information as additional locations become available.

To use the charging stations at Columbine, Lakewood or Standley Lake, patrons will need to download the Blink Charging app, opens a new window.

Evergreen patrons will need to download the SynergEV, opens a new window.

To use the Belmar charging stations, patrons will need to download the Chargepoint app, opens a new window.

These apps direct users to electric vehicle charging stations, hours, payment methods and more.

JCPL has an ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being and we continue to prioritize the journey toward carbon neutrality within our facilities and services. As part of this initiative, we have secured grants and reimbursements to install electric vehicle charging stations at select libraries.

  • Self-Service

    • The Express Library collection is a special collection of highly popular DVDs and books. These items are non-holdable and available to check out on a first-come, first-served basis. Items will only renew one time.
    • The books and DVDs at the Express Library are listed in our catalog, so you can see what is there before you go. Just search for the keywords "Lending & Express" and filter to "Express Library West Arvada" as a location under the "Available Now" filter.
    • Express Library DVDs check out for one week, and Express Library books check out for three weeks. Most of our normal lending guidelines apply to materials from the Express Library collection, except that items will renew only one time.
    • You can request items at other locations to be sent to the Express Library for pick up. When you place a hold in our catalog, select "Express Library West Arvada" for your Hold Pickup Location. When you are notified your hold is ready to pick up, visit the Express Library West Arvada during open hours. The item will be held for you for seven days.
    • You can return Express Library collection items (or any other library items) to any 24/7 Returns Bin or library location.

If the door doesn't open, the Express Library building capacity may have been reached, or there may be an issue with your JCPL account.

The Express Library has an occupancy capacity limit of 25. If the entry panel message says capacity has been reached, please wait for a patron to exit the building, then scan your JCPL card to gain entry.

If you are still unable to access the building, please contact JCPL staff at 303-235-5275 to check the status of your account. (Phone support is available during standard Contact Hours).

We have numerous measures to maintain patron safety while using the Express Library:

    • Security cameras monitor the Express Library space at all times
    • Onsite telephone connects with 911 or library staff during standard contact hours for assistance
    • Large windows and unobstructed sightlines for ease of visibility
    • Loudspeaker system for scheduled and emergency announcements
    • Patrons must be registered to access the space

Chromebook laptops, Hotspots, Prospector or Interlibrary Loan holds can be picked up at Express Library West Arvada.

Chromebook laptops cannot be returned to the Express Library and must be returned to a staff member at one of our full-service locations.

At this time, it is not possible to pick up Colorado State Parks Passes at Express Library West Arvada.

During normal operating hours, you may bring in a small donation of one box of books or less per day to most of our full-service locations. We accept books, DVDs, CDs and LPs. We do not accept VHS, cassettes or magazines. We cannot accept donations at our Express Library West Arvada or at the Conifer Library.

You can drop off larger volume donations at the Jefferson County Library Foundation warehouse, Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Donations must be in boxes. The warehouse is located at 10790 W. 50th Avenue, #200, Wheat Ridge. Please call the Foundation at 303-403-5075 in advance if you have more than six boxes of books. More information about donating can be found on the Foundation's website.

  • Holds Lockers

We cannot extend the pickup period for a Holds Locker hold once your items are in it. However, you can have your item(s) moved from the holds locker to a JCPL location and retrieve your items via walk-in or curbside services. There will be a delay before your hold is ready, and you will receive notification when your hold is ready to be picked up.

The Holds Locker touchscreen may be overheating. You may still retrieve your items by scanning your JCPL card, trying a variety of different angles. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience! We are working towards a solution. Please call 303-235-5275 for further assistance.

  • Meeting & Study Rooms

Most of our meeting rooms offer a laptop computer, projector and screen, projector remote and hand held microphone. Some locations may also offer assistive devices, headphones or other cables.

Please alert nearby staff so they may free up the room for another patron to use.

These items will be available upon request.
