Do you want to be a leader in your community? Join JCPL's eight-week Youth Development Program and receive $350 upon completion!
Participants of the Youth Development Program will learn leadership skills, master communication and advocacy and apply those skills to a final project. This is a great opportunity for teens to learn and practice mitigating stress and improve job readiness.
The focus of the Youth Development Program will be to:
- Learn about boundaries in relationships, why they are important and how they are necessary to form healthy relationships.
- Learn and practice communication skills related to setting, and enforcing boundaries in day-to-day scenarios.
- Extend the skills learned to policy settings and project-based practices.
This program is for teens ages 14 - 18. Participants must attend all sessions and create individual projects that showcase their newly acquired skills. Teens that complete the program will receive $350!

Once accepted into the program, teen participants and their parents and guardians are invited to a follow-up session on Monday, Sept. 23 to complete the necessary forms and ensure a smooth start to the program!
The fun begins Monday, Sept. 30! Each session will be 5 - 6:30 p.m. at Belmar Library on Mondays, Sept. 30 - Nov. 18. Final presentations will be 6 - 7 p.m. on Nov. 21.
