Show Off Your Creativity in Golden Library’s Thought Bubble Contest

This winter break, put your imagination to paper (or screen) and share your best original comic or graphic novel creation. There is no set theme; just let your creativity flow.

Contest Rules

Entries can be hand-drawn or digitally illustrated and should showcase your own storytelling style. They must be the original work of the submitting author(s) or illustrator(s).

Submissions are recommended to be no longer than 10 single-sided pages (8.5" x 11"). Artists using materials of another size should estimate not to exceed the recommended story length in their preferred medium.

Artists of all experience levels are encouraged to participate.

Paper submissions should be delivered to Golden Library by 5 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2026, while digital submissions can be emailed as PNG, JPG or PDF attachments to goldenlibrary@jeffcolibrary.org, opens a new window by 11:59 p.m. that same day.

Closing Reception

The contest will conclude with a final reception on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, from 2 – 3 p.m. at Golden Library. Unleash your inner storyteller this winter — your ideas deserve a thought bubble of their own!
