Evergreen Library is Closing for a Redesign

Evergreen Library will be closed starting Monday, August 21 as the building undergoes an exciting redesign that caters to current and future needs. The last day for the public to access the Library is Sunday, August 20.

Starting August 21, Evergreen holds will be rerouted to Golden Library. If you'd prefer your materials to go to another location, please update your pick-up location through your online account or call 303-235-5275. Additional information regarding alternative services during the Evergreen closure will be shared soon.

The current Evergreen Library building was completed in 1993, and the redesign takes into account community input gathered through virtual meetings and an online survey in 2022.

Our vision for the Evergreen Library Redesign Project is for an updated library that is welcoming to all, where the patron experience is one of absolute delight, and where residents feel respected and understood. We also want to align the redesign with our mission and vision of a 21st century library, while upgrading and modernizing resources, spaces, technology, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems in the building.

JCPL’s next steps will be setting a timeline and finalizing alternate services for the Evergreen community.

The Evergreen Library is expected to reopen in Spring of 2024.
