As summer ends and back-to-school starts to dominate our thoughts, Jefferson County Public Library concludes its chapter of Conifer Library in Conifer High School.
Conifer Library will be closed starting Saturday, Aug. 16, as we prepare for an exciting move into our new location at 27122 Main St., Unit 100 in Conifer. The last day for the public to access the current library until we reopen in our new location is Friday, Aug. 15.
Starting Aug. 16, Conifer holds will be rerouted to Evergreen Library. If you'd prefer your materials to go to another location, like the nearby Mountain Resource Center Holds Locker, please update your pick-up location through your online account or call 303-235-5275.
Since 1996, Conifer Library has been housed within the Conifer High School. Through extensive input and engagement efforts in 2022 and 2023, we learned that demand for library services within the community exceeds what we can provide in the current space. In July 2024, the JCPL Board of Trustees approved a 10-year lease for the new location to operate as the new home for Conifer Library.
Over the summer, we worked with the School District to officially conclude our intergovernmental agreement to partner with the Conifer High School. As students return to school this fall, they will have their own library and mixed-use space to explore, with some materials, like shelving and books, provided by JCPL to help them get a head start on their own space.
Construction is well underway at our new location, and we anticipate opening the new library in early September 2025.
Save the Date: Conifer Library Grand Opening
The Conifer Library Grand Opening celebration will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at our new home at 27122 Main St., Unit 100 in Conifer. Mark your calendars to celebrate the occasion with us!
