BYOB – Bring Your Own…Book?

This summer, try an alternate take on the traditional book club.

Bring your own book to Book Group? Say goodbye to everything you thought you knew about the traditional book group. Beginning in June, the Library hosts an alternative take on the old-fashioned literary circle.

Participating is easy and the perfect solution for all those literary aficionados who can’t seem to make a traditional book group stick. No more slogging your way through an assigned title you aren’t even interested in reading. No more frustrating attempts to schedule an evening that works for everyone. No more sacrificing summer happy hours for indoor book nights. Instead, simply show up having read a book that falls into the given theme for the night, and get chatting.

The first of these BYOB(ook) Group nights takes place Wednesday, June 13 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and is hosted by Belmar Library at WestFax Brewing Company, where the beer is liberated and dogs are welcome. Come prepared to talk about books in a casual atmosphere by reading any book by an author with a different ethnicity than your own. Leave with great book recommendations for the rest of your summer reading, and, as an added bonus, drink at happy hour prices!

Connect with fellow readers and establish a community of like-minded explorers and readers starting this summer!
