Arvada Library to be Redesigned to Meet Future Needs

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) is embarking on a plan to redesign the Arvada Library! The library, which opened in 2006 as an urban/suburban library serving Arvada and the surrounding communities, has since grown in number of users and is due for a remodel to keep up with the growing needs of the community.

According to the 2023 Census, population growth in the Arvada Library service area is significantly higher than the county at large. This pattern is estimated to continue into 2050. The library also serves a highly multilingual population as compared to the rest of Jefferson County.

The vision for this project is to redesign the library for the future in order to reach more people, focus on building literacies and be the third place in this community. The project is within the library’s 2024 strategic plan and is fully funded.

Watch for upcoming opportunities to provide feedback, including a digital survey, as well as in-person and virtual community engagement opportunities.
