At the Thursday, October 16 meeting of the Jefferson County Public Library Board of Trustees, the Board approved an alternative library services location lease for the Arvada Library.
The alternative services will be located at the former home of the Arvada K-8 School, located at 5751 Balsam St, Arvada, CO 80002, opens a new window. As a part of JCPL's strategic plan, the Arvada Library is scheduled for a redesign beginning in January 2026 and will be closed during construction.
The alternative library services location will offer similar resources to the ones available at the Arvada Library, including access to physical collections, Wi-Fi, computers and programming. The library is expected to close in early 2026 for construction, with the alternative services location opening shortly thereafter. The redesign is projected to take approximately 14 months, but more information will be available as construction progresses.
The redesigned library will better align the facility with community needs and future library services while enhancing patron safety and comfort.
For more information about the redesign, visit the Arvada Redesign project page. There, you can read the Community Engagement Report, opens a new window and see renderings of the new spaces. You can also sign up to receive email updates about the project as it progresses.
