FAQs
-
- The Express Library collection is a special collection of highly popular DVDs and books. These items are non-holdable and available to check out on a first-come, first-served basis. Items will only renew one time.
- The books and DVDs at the Express Library are listed in our catalog, so you can see what is there before you go. Just search for the keywords "Lending & Express" and filter to "Express Library West Arvada" as a location under the "Available Now" filter.
- Express Library DVDs check out for one week, and Express Library books check out for three weeks. Most of our normal lending guidelines apply to materials from the Express Library collection, except that items will renew only one time.
- You can request items at other locations to be sent to the Express Library for pick up. When you place a hold in our catalog, select "Express Library West Arvada" for your Hold Pickup Location. When you are notified your hold is ready to pick up, visit the Express Library West Arvada during open hours. The item will be held for you for seven days.
- You can return Express Library collection items (or any other library items) to any 24/7 Returns Bin or library location.
-
If the door doesn't open, the Express Library building capacity may have been reached, or there may be an issue with your JCPL account.
The Express Library has an occupancy capacity limit of 25. If the entry panel message says capacity has been reached, please wait for a patron to exit the building, then scan your JCPL card to gain entry.
If you are still unable to access the building, please contact JCPL staff at 303-235-5275 to check the status of your account. (Phone support is available during standard Contact Hours).

We do not accept VHS, cassettes or magazines. We cannot accept donations at our Express Library West Arvada or at the Conifer Library.
You can drop off larger volume donations at the Jefferson County Library Foundation warehouse, Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Donations must be in boxes. The warehouse is located at 10790 W. 50th Avenue, #200, Wheat Ridge. Please call the Foundation at 303-403-5075 in advance if you have more than six boxes of books. More information about donating can be found on the Foundation's website.
