Sign up for Summer Reading and help your school soar to new heights!

During the 2019 Mission to Read, we challenge all Jefferson County public school students (between the ages of four and 18) to read for their schools.

Compete to win $800 to support your school’s library or reading-related programs. Awards are given to schools in five categories with the highest percentage of finishers.

Only five schools can win, so step aboard and get reading!

How to participate

  • When registering for Summer Reading, simply select your school. Your minutes automatically count toward the school competition.
  • Sorry parents and teachers – this contest is only for the students (ages 4 – 18), but please encourage and cheer on your students.

School categories

One school in each of the five categories is awarded a cash prize of $800.

  • Preschool
  • Elementary school
  • Middle school
  • High school
  • Multi-level school, i.e. K-8; K-12

How to win

To win, schools in each category must have the highest percentage of finishers within their category, based on 2018-2019 school enrollments as reported to the State of Colorado. In the event of a tie, prize is awarded to the school with the highest total average minutes per student.
