Jefferson County Public Library Selects Humphries Poli Architects to Assist with Columbine Library Remodel

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) announced today that it has selected Humphries Poli Architects, P.C., a highly acclaimed architecture practice headquartered in Denver, Colorado, to provide design and engineering services for the 2017 Columbine Library remodel.

Under terms of the contract, Humphries Poli will assist JCPL with:

  • Project design services;
  • Civil, structural, MEP and acoustical engineering services;
  • Architectural, civil, site development, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications;
  • Cost estimating (total project, sub-projects, and proposed change order(s));
  • Selection of the Construction Manager/General Contractor Team; and
  • Document management and control, including all construction and construction administration.

“Humphries Poli has a long track record of excellence in Library design and construction,” said Pam Nissler, executive director, JCPL. “They’ve successfully completed a number of Library projects in Colorado, including the 21c, East Branch, and Penrose Libraries in Colorado Springs; the Anythink Libraries in Adams County; and the Woodbury, Sheridan and Ford Warren Libraries in Denver, to name a few. They are sensitive to community-inspired design and we look forward to working with them to transform the Columbine Library into a true 21st-century library in South Jefferson County.”

Humphries Poli was selected through a competitive bidding process launched by the Library in July. Three firms responded to JCPL’s Request for Proposals; firms were evaluated based on price, ability to meet JCPL’s needs, experience and references. Humphries Poli was awarded a contract for design and engineering services for an amount not to exceed $290,775.

Design services will begin this fall, with construction planned for the spring of 2017. JCPL will partner with Humphries Poli to solicit community input on feedback on proposed designs prior to construction. Watch for project updates at jeffcolibrary.org/locations/south-county.
