Jeffco Library fights youth unemployment with Teen Job Fair

Looking for a summer job? If you’re under 18, it might not be as easy as you think, especially since youth unemployment stands at 10.8 percent (April 2016, Statista).

Jefferson County Public Library is partnering with the American Job Center to host a Teen Job Fair at 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Belmar Library, 555 S. Allison Parkway in Lakewood to assist teens with resume prep and interview skills. Several local employers will be on hand to find their next great teen employees. Employers will be able to answer any questions and accept applications on the spot.

Jefferson County Public Library is committed to helping all Jefferson County students graduate from high school career or college ready. This job fair is one strategy aimed at supporting this community outcome. For more free career resources, visit http://jeffcolibrary.org/research/jobs.
