History in the making as JCPL expands free culture pass offerings

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) is making history by adding two popular Colorado cultural attractions to its popular Culture Pass program. Starting mid-May, JCPL library cardholders can check out passes that grant them free admission to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Molly Brown House in Denver.

A Culture Pass encourages the discovery of Colorado’s most popular attractions by providing free admission so people can explore, learn and have fun. Passes can be reserved online up to 30 days ahead of the desired date.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science Culture Pass can be reserved online, but then needs to be picked up in person at the library. Patrons have six days to use their pass as often as they’d like and up to seven people are admitted free. Children under three are always free. The pass includes discounts to IMAX, special ticketed events, the café and the gift shop.

Also added is the Molly Brown House Museum where people can learn about Margaret “Molly” Brown’s “titanic” personality. Not only did she survive the sinking of the Titanic (earning her the nickname of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown”), she used her notoriety to promote issues such as the rights of workers and women, education and literacy for children, historic preservation, and more. The pass allows four visitors to enter at no cost for a house tour.
