After closing for redesign in August 2023, we are excited to announce that construction is complete, and the Evergreen Library will reopen for service on Monday, April 1 at 9 a.m., with a Grand Reopening Celebration planned for Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
While we have loved being able to provide alternative library service at the Evergreen Parkway Temporary Library for the duration of the redesign, the temporary space will permanently shutter its doors on Saturday, March 30 at 5 p.m. as we transition services back to our newly redesigned space. Existing holds for the Evergreen Parkway Temporary and Evergreen Libraries will automatically transfer to the Evergreen Library starting April 1. This includes any on-shelf, in-transit and not-yet-filled holds. If you’d prefer your materials to go to another location, please update your pick-up location through your online account or call 303-235-5275.
The vision for the Evergreen Library Redesign Project was for an updated library that was welcoming for all, where the patron experience is one of absolute delight and where residents feel respected and understood. This project reflects our strategic priorities to reach more people, focus on building literacies, continue to be the third place and grow sustainably, while also upgrading and modernizing resources, spaces, technology, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems in the building.
We are so excited to invite you into the updated space, which includes flexible community meeting room spaces, additional study rooms, a quiet reading room with a fireplace, Bondi pods for semi-private seating, versatile and vibrant furniture and a tech area featuring printers, copiers and other equipment. Accessibility and sustainability features were also incorporated throughout the building. Access to new and updated services, like meeting and study room reservations, technology bookings, programs and more will also be available starting April 1.
Celebrate with Us!
Celebrate the Grand Reopening with us on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to – 5 p.m. with a special event featuring fun for all ages. Enjoy a special bingo card activity, festive music provided by the Library’s own ukulele group, cookies from local caterer La Cuisine Catering, guided tours and a grand opening gift for all attendees (while supplies last).
