Lending Machine

Available 24/7, the Lending Machine functions like an automated video rental kiosk and is stocked with new and popular books and DVDs for adults and children.

Browse hundreds of titles in English and Spanish! Then, instantly borrow items with your JCPL card or card number.

Instructions

  1. Tap Touch to Start on the Lending Machine screen.
  2. Use the screen to search for an item. Browse the items currently available, or search for a specific Author or Title. Tap the item you are interested in and touch Check Out.
  3. Scan or type your JCPL card number.
  4. The machine will retrieve your item, the door below the screen will open, and your item will be there. The process can take 30 - 60 seconds per item.
  5. It will ask you if you would like to check out another item. If you do, tap yes and follow steps 2 - 4 above. If you don't, tap no.
  6. You can either print your receipt or have it emailed to you (if your email address is attached to your account).

Checkout times for Lending Machine items follow the same guidelines as the rest of our collection but are not eligible for renewals or holds.

You can return Lending Machine items to any JCPL 24/7 Returns Bin or location.

  • There is a Returns Bin onsite, located next to the Ridge Rec Center Holds Locker and Lending Machine. Any library items checked out from any location can be returned any time 24/7. You can also return Lending Machine items to any location.

  • To check items out of the Lending Machine:

    1. Visit the Lending Machine available any time 24/7 located outside the lower entrance of the Ridge Recreation Center building at 6613 S. Ward St., Littleton, CO 80127.
    2. Tap Touch to Start on the Lending Machine screen.
    3. Use the screen to search for an item. Browse the items currently available, or search for a specific Author or Title. Select, by tapping, the item you are interested in and touch Check Out.
    4. Scan or type your JCPL card number.
    5. The machine will retrieve your item, the door below the screen will open and your item will be there. The process can take 30 - 60 seconds per item.
    6. It will ask you if you would like to check out another item. If you do, tap yes and follow steps 3 - 6 above. If you don't, tap no.
    7. If we have your email address in your account, your receipt will be sent to you. You must visit a JCPL location to add an email address to your account. There also is an option to print a receipt.

    To return items to the Lending Machine:

    There is a Returns Bin onsite, located next to the Ridge Rec Center Holds Locker and Lending Machine. Any library items checked out from any location can be returned any time 24/7. You can also return Lending Machine items to any location.

  • The Ridge Rec Center Library Holds Locker, Lending Machine and Returns Bin are located outside the lower entrance of the Ridge Recreation Center building at 6613 S. Ward St., Littleton, CO 80127, opens a new window. All three services are available any time 24/7.

       

  • Items in the machine are listed in the our catalog. Just search for the keyword "Lending & Express" and filter to "Ridge Rec Center Lending Machine" as a location under the "Available Now" filter.

    The Lending Machine collection is a special collection of highly popular books and DVDs. These items are non-holdable and available to check out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Holds Locker Instructions

  1. When you place a hold in our catalog, select the Ridge Rec Center Holds Locker for your Hold Pickup Location.
  2. You will be notified when your hold is ready. You may then visit the Holds Locker any time, 24/7. Holds will remain in the lockers for three days.
  3. Scan or type in your JCPL card number.
  4. Your list of holds will be displayed.
  5. A locker door will open, and you may take your items, close the locker door and touch Finish. Enjoy!

Holds Locker pickup is unavailable for Prospector and Interlibrary Loan holds, select oversized library items (like Book Club Kits) and will not work with 7-digit temporary JCPL cards.

You can return Holds Locker items to any JCPL 24/7 Returns Bin or location.
