Jefferson County Public Library heard your voices loud and clear. As we developed the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, we gathered deep, meaningful feedback from across our community – more than 8,000 survey responses and dozens of conversations with residents, staff, partners and local leaders.
Your insights helped us understand what matters most: accessible services, welcoming spaces, support for lifelong learning and a Library that reflects and serves the diversity of Jeffco. What you told us is now at the heart of the new strategic direction that will guide JCPL’s priorities for years to come.

2026 – 2029 Strategic Plan Board Ends and Objectives
The Strategic Plan introduces updated Mission and Vision statements and focuses on three Board Ends. These goals reflect JCPL’s commitment to equitable and free access, welcoming and safe spaces for learning and connection and a strong, supported workforce.

About Strategic Planning
Strategic planning shapes the Library's long-term vision, setting priorities, focusing resources and strengthening operations. From 2020 - 2025, we prioritized creating libraries of the future, reaching more people, building literacies, becoming the "third place" and growing sustainably.
Guided by these goals, we've explored new and redesigned building projects, expanded outreach and Library To You services, increased access to technology and continued offering programs and resources to support community growth.
