Accessing your JCPL (Jefferson County Public Library) materials in northwest Arvada just got easier.
Beginning October 13, a Holds Locker and Returns Bin will be available outside the Candelas Swim and Fitness Club at Parkview located at 19865 W. 94th Avenue. This new service allows for anyone living in, visiting or driving through the northwest Arvada area to stop by the Holds Locker and Returns Bin anytime, 24/7.
“JCPL and Library To You, opens a new window are always on the lookout to find patrons who have barriers in finding materials and bridge those gaps,” said Kelly Duran, manager of JCPL’s Library To You service. “Holds Lockers are a great way to address those needs. The Swim & Fitness Club at Candelas Parkview is a main thoroughfare to the Coal Creek Canyon community right off Highway 72.”
To use the new Holds Locker as your pickup location, select “Candelas Parkview Holds Locker, opens a new window” when making a holds request online or by phone. You’ll be notified as soon as your items are ready to be picked up. Pick up your items within three days at any time convenient to you. When you’re finished with your items, return materials to any Library location or the 24/7 Candelas Returns Bin.
Holds Lockers, opens a new window are the latest in JCPL’s push to increase access to Library materials and resources to all residents of Jefferson County. Recently, Holds Lockers were installed outside Belmar Library, opens a new window, Columbine Library, opens a new window and Standley Lake Library, opens a new window, as well as outside the Ridge Recreation Center, opens a new window in Littleton and the Mountain Resource Center, opens a new window in Conifer. And who knows what the future holds?
“We are continually looking at other places in the county that could benefit from a Holds Locker, and are planning to have more in the future,” Duran said.
