(Lakewood, Colo. – Feb. 18, 2014) Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) announced today that it is partnering with the Westminster Public Library to extend homebound services to Jefferson County residents living in Westminster. JCPL’s Homebound Service is for Jefferson County residents who are unable to come to a library due to a permanent condition or temporary condition lasting longer than three months. Through this service, JCPL will arrange for the delivery of library materials via home delivery or by mail.
“Jefferson County residents who use the Westminster Public Library may not realize our homebound service is available to them,” said Donna Walker, JCPL’s director of public services. “We appreciate Westminster’s support in helping us to spread the word.”
“We’re happy to promote this service to our patrons who live in Jefferson County,” said Kate Skarbek, Library Services Manager, Westminster Public Library. “We don’t have the resources to support a homebound program in Westminster, but by partnering with JCPL, we’re able to extend this service to many patrons and residents.”
Westminster is located in both Jefferson and Adams counties, and Westminster residents are served by three library systems:
• The City of Westminster provides library services at www.westminsterlibrary.org and through two locations, the College Hill Library, located at 3705 West 112th Avenue, and the Irving Street Library, at 7392 Irving Street.
• Jefferson County residents living in Westminster are also served by JCPL via jeffcolibrary.org, two libraries located in nearby Arvada (8485 Kipling Street and 7525 West 57th Avenue), and countywide homebound services.
• Adams County residents living in Westminster are also served by Rangeview Library District. Adams County residents would not qualify for JCPL’s homebound services.
Jefferson County residents living in Westminster may apply for JCPL’s Homebound Services by calling 303-275-6161, or by visiting www.jeffcolibrary.org/homebound. Homebound Library Service Applications are also available at both Westminster Public Library locations.
