Pam Nissler

Executive Director

Pam joined Jefferson County Public Library in March 2009 and was named executive director in January 2012. From 2009 to 2012, she served as public services director at JCPL. Pam has 40 years of experience in managing and directing libraries in the Denver area. Before joining Jefferson County Public Library, Pam was associate director of community services for the Douglas County Libraries and led the libraries through a significant period of growth including: the design, construction and/or remodeling of three libraries and the creation of a new library service model to serve suburban libraries. She also participated in the planning for and implementation of RFID technology, self-checkout machines and sorters. Prior to her time at Douglas County, Pam was the manager of the Koelbel Library for the Arapahoe Public Library District where she participated in design and construction of that library. She also was the director of the Edwin A. Bemis Public Library in Littleton where she planned for the remodel and an addition to that library. She has served as the president of the Colorado Library Association (now the Colorado Association of Libraries) and as chair of the board of the Central Colorado Library System. She is a member of the American Library Association and the Public Library Association. She has taught Human Relations in Library Administration as a visiting instructor at the University of Denver. She was listed in the directory of Outstanding Young Women of America in 1978. Pam graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. She received her Master of Arts degree in Library Science from the University of Denver.
