Voices from the Edge

Writings from Library workshops to be featured at regional event

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) proudly supports the craft of writing. Writings from two ongoing programs will be featured at Voices from the Edge, an evening of storytelling on April 6, 7 p.m. at the McNichols Civic Center Building. The special event, sponsored by Lighthouse Writers Group, enacts writing from participants in JCPL’s Writing to Be Free and Hard Times writing workshops, as well as Denver Public Library’s Hard Times writing workshop.

Writing to Be Free is held at a local correctional facility with people transitioning out of incarceration. Hard Times, held every Wednesday at the Arvada Library from 3 – 5 p.m., is a workshop for community members experiencing homelessness or facing challenging times. Actors from Denver-based Stories on Stage will bring selected writings alive. JCPL and Lighthouse Writers Group collaborate to offer the writing workshops to the community.

Friday, April 6, 7 - 9 PM
McNichols Civic Center Building
144 W. Colfax Avenue

The event is free and refreshments are provided.
