Setting Our Sights on Excellence

Unveiling the future of Jefferson County Public Library

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL)  2018 Budget, 2018 Strategic Plan, and 2017 Annual Report are now available online.

As these documents show, 2017 was a turn-around year for JCPL! For the past two years, we’ve been working to restore library services to pre-recession levels, and we’ve made significant progress. Now, we’re setting our sights on excellence.

2017 highlights include:

  • Investing $8.3 million in books and materials
  • Launching an improved website
  • Introducing system-wide signature events, such as Western Reboot and Stouts & Stories/Ales & Tales
  • Updating and stabilizing our technology infrastructure
  • Completing a $4.2 million update of the Columbine Library
  • Partnering with the city of Edgewater to plan a new 10,000-square-foot library

In 2018, we’ll focus on:

  • Providing access to even more books and materials
  • Enhancing access to current and emerging technologies
  • Hosting the grand opening of the new Library in Edgewater
  • Planning a major update to the Belmar Library in Lakewood

JCPL is brimming with opportunity! We look forward to serving you in 2018 and beyond.
