During the month of September, 450 people (and a few dogs) attended a lineup of 25 virtual and outdoor events, and 1,000 busy little hands snapped up Take and Make Kits from Jefferson County Public Library locations to enjoy from the comfort of home.
The StoryWalk® in Olde Town Arvada was a great way for families to get some fresh air and read a book together as they walked from business to business. This was the first StoryWalk® ever put on by JCPL, but it won’t be the last! If your child is around 4 years old, be sure to pick up your free copy of One Book Colorado’s The Little Red Fort/El Fuertecito Rojo, opens a new window at any JCPL location through October 25. One Book Colorado and JCPL want to get a free copy of this book into the hands of every 4-year-old in the state, so come pick up your book and tell your friends who have a 4-year-old at home, too!
You can also enroll your kids in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, opens a new window, and check out various book lists and printable trackers to help you and your kids reach this awesome goal! Every 100 books read together earns a sticker, and you can also earn cool halfway and finishing prizes—book bags and new hardcover books!
