It’s Socktober at Golden Library!

Donate new socks to help those currently experiencing homelessness

As we all get ready for cold weather season in Colorado, the Golden Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) gears up to give back to the community. On Saturday, Oct. 27, 12 – 1:30 p.m. local teens will create DIY care kits for individuals in the community currently experiencing hard times during the Golden Gives event.

But helping out this season isn’t just for teens! Donate a pair (or several pairs) of new socks for teens to add to these care kits. Donations accepted from Sept. 24 – Oct. 26 at the Golden Library.

Golden TAB initiated the Golden Gives project after noticing both a community need and an opportunity for teens to complete service hours.

"The Golden TAB is always really excited to do service projects," Golden teen librarian and TAB organizer, Brittany Dolezal said. "They all really want to get involved and are excited to help out."

"I think it is really important to give back and help your community," Golden TAB member, Lucy, age 16, followed up. "I am excited to help with Golden Gives because it is amazing to see the impact you have on peoples’ lives, especially in your own community.”

Help Lucy and Golden TAB give back this October. Contact Brittany with questions regarding donations.
