Golden Library to Undergo Repairs June 23 & 24

Jefferson County Public Library announced today that the Golden Library will be closed on Thursday, June 23 and offer modified services on Friday, June 24, to accommodate critical plumbing repairs.

“These repairs will require us to break through the cement floor in the main entrance area,” said Carroll Mannino, Golden Library manager. “We’ll need to close on Thursday, June 23, to accommodate construction and ask patrons to use an alternative entrance on Friday, June 24, to allow the new cement to cure.”

On Friday, the 24th, patrons will be asked to use the emergency access door in the library’s quiet area, east of the main entrance, to pick up holds and access Library services.

“We’re doing everything we can to minimize disruption to our patrons,” Mannino added. “We’ll extend due dates on materials during the construction period to avoid late fines and fees, and patrons who wish to have their holds transferred to an alternate location may do so by calling 303-235-5275.”

For patrons who wish to use alternative locations during the construction, nearby libraries include:

  • Arvada Library, 7525 W. 57th Ave., Arvada
  • Belmar Library, 555 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood City Commons, Lakewood
  • Lakewood Library, 20th and Miller, Lakewood
  • Standley Lake Library, 8485 Kipling St., Arvada

“We apologize to our patrons for the inconvenience,” Mannino noted. “We hope to complete the repairs and return to normal services as quickly as possible.”
