WHY: Jefferson County Public Library proudly presents Fandomonium, a “Comic Con”-like event that is free for all ages. Fandoms collide with fun, food and drink for everyone. Discover this multiverse of fun, featuring costume contests, door prizes, a cross-fandom murder mystery, fan meet-ups and trivia contests. Get in on the action by grooving along to a silent disco; have your fortune told by mystical experts; make your own homemade potion with essential oils; learn your Patronus; and play vintage tabletop, giant and arcade games. Additional crafts and games keep the under-five crowd happy in the designated Kids Zone. Photo opportunities with fellow fans and live-action models available throughout the evening. Celebrate story, get your geek on and nerd out with the Library this Saturday. Learn more at jeffcolibrary.org/fandom.

VISUALS:     Fans of all ages dress up in costumes and cosplay to compete to win prizes in kid, teen, adult and group categories. Decorated scenes and backdrops from popular fandoms, including Star Wars, Star Trek, the Harry Potter Universe, videogames and more, set the scene of this multiverse of fun. Elvis emcees the event on the center stage, and professional actors in costumes populate the event, providing endless photo opportunities for fans. Attendees get to know fellow fans during designated meet-up times, creating a space of networking and community building. The event features interactive activities and hands-on fun for all, including families, kids, teens and adults.
