Chromebooks Now Available for Patrons to Use at Home

If you’re looking for a job and need access to a computer or the internet to help in your job search, Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) has an exciting new resource for you!

JCPL has partnered with the Jefferson County Business and Workforce Center (JCBW) to provide access to Chromebook laptops to help you in your job search.

These laptops will be available to Jefferson County residents starting in November. You can reserve them by speaking with Library staff or using the JCPL online catalog, opens a new window. These items check out for 60 days, opens a new window, and the due date is not renewable.

The Chromebooks, opens a new window have built-in WiFi/data for an internet connection wherever you are. The laptops allow you to create resumes and cover letters, explore other job aid tools, and conduct online interviews. Along with the laptop, you will also get a power cord, mouse, quick-start sheet and a bag.

This new resource is part of JCPL’s commitment to meeting the needs of all community members, opens a new window within Jefferson County. Remote work has changed the way people think about when and how they want to work, leading to more and more employees across the United States either being displaced from their jobs or voluntarily resigning from their positions in order to look for better employment, according to research. These new laptops are here to help you find that opportunity.
