Calling All Teens: Volunteer and Rock the Books!

Volunteer with Jefferson County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program!

We're rockin' the books this summer by reading 40 million minutes, and we need your help to do it!

Whether you’re logging service hours for your school or community or just looking for something to keep busy with during those lazy days of summer, volunteering with the Library is the perfect place to start. As a volunteer, you’ll gain critical work experience, make important professional connections and references, and enjoy hands-on entertainment all summer long.

Volunteers for the Summer Reading Program:

  • Assist with registration
  • Distribute prize giveaways
  • Help facilitate additional summer programming and events
  • Enthusiastically promote all library programs
  • Make friends with fellow volunteers and library staff
  • Celebrate the end of summer with a rockin’ Volunteer Appreciation Party

If you're in grades 7 -12 (ages 12 – 18), you can join the team! Each library provides free volunteer training during the month of May.

Discover the fun this summer! Apply here to be a Teen Summer Reading Volunteer at your local library.
