Adults with disabilities rediscover the library through expanded learning and discovery program

The Library is more than a collection of books. It’s a place where everyone can learn, play and create! The American Library Association recognizes that people with disabilities are a large part of our community and that many often face limited opportunities, including opportunities to be creative and engage socially.

This is where Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) hopes to make a difference. The new Library for All programs offer crafts, art creation, story times, games, musical play, library exploration and more to adults with disabilities and their caregivers, providing a low-stress, entertaining and whimsical chance to just have fun and enjoy life. Each participating library branch offers unique and tailored experiences for participants to engage adults with a wide range of disabilities.

Library for All programs are available at:

  • Arvada Library - 1 p.m. 3rd Wednesday
  • Golden Library - 11:30 a.m. Last Thursday
  • Lakewood Library - 1 p.m. 4th Wednesday
  • Standley Lake Library - 12 p.m. 2nd Tuesday

Groups are welcome, but space is limited and people are encouraged to register online or call 303-235-5275.
