Do you know what to do if someone were to approach you in a threatening way? Learning practical self-defense with basic verbal and physical tricks can save you in a bad situation. In addition, knowing self-defense builds confidence, helps you gain self-respect, develops self-discipline, improves your physical conditioning, and enhances your awareness.
We’re offering a series of self-defense programs for teens and adults run by Jefferson County Open Space rangers. Learn how to avoid and prevent unsafe situations as well as develop skills and techniques to physically protect yourself. Approximately 65% of this class involves participating in physical self-defense techniques, so please dress in comfortable workout attire and bring sufficient amounts of water. If you have weight lifting, biking or MMA gloves bring them to help protect your hands. Do not eat a larger meal before class. Class size is limited; first come, first served.
