You’re invited to a facilitated viewing and discussion of The Raising of America – Early childhood and the future of our nation.
When parents are stressed out, babies often pay the price. Research says that improving conditions for families with young children is one of the best investments any nation can make.
While the US is the wealthiest, most powerful country in the world, our child well-being has fallen to 26th in the world, and an alarming number of American children are following low developmental trajectories from the start. They enter adulthood with learning challenges, behavioral issues and even poor physical health.
This documentary argues that our population health is not the only thing at risk; it’s also the very future of our nation.
Hear the evidence that says that by providing for our children, we also preserve our county’s future prosperity, equity and well-being. By providing safe, stable and responsive environments for our babies and little ones, we help build their brains and improve their chances for success in school and life.
The Raising of America is a documentary exploring how a strong start for young children leads to a healthier, more equitable and sustainable America. Join community members for a screening of the film followed by an open discussion. Light refreshments will be served and there is no cost for attendance. Everyone is welcome.
