Meet Barbara Trumbo, winner of an iPad Mini 4!
Barbara was one of 1,142 people who participated in our recent Impact Survey to get information about how our patrons use technology in the Library. She was selected in a random drawing to receive the prize.
Barbara has been coming to Jeffco Library since 1980. While she is fortunate to have a computer and access to the Internet at home, she acknowledges that not everyone is so lucky.
“The Library is a touchpoint where anyone – from any income level – can access information and learn new things, and Library technology plays an increasingly important role in providing that access,” she said. “I participated in the survey because I want the Library to know what the public finds valuable.”
How will she use her new iPad?
“I hope to use it for all kinds of things,” she said. “I like to download eBooks and online magazines; I hope to check out the Library’s genealogy resources, access new applications, and even Skype with my daughter, who lives out of town!”
“Thanks to patrons like Barbara, we now have clear feedback from the community on the technology they’d like to see in our Libraries,” said Pam Nissler, our executive director. “We look forward to enhancing our technology offerings as we go forward.”
