Julianne joined Jefferson County Public Library in May 2012 as the Belmar library manager, and was named assistant public services director in February 2013. Julianne will oversee public services operations, support the implementation of strategic initiatives and manage special projects. Julianne brings solid experience in both large urban libraries and small city libraries. From 2003 to 2012, Julianne worked for the Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) in Colorado Springs, CO, where she managed multiple library locations and projects. While at PPLD, she oversaw the design and construction of both the Fountain Library (2006), and the High Prairie Library (2010), as well as the historic preservation of the Old Colorado City Carnegie library (2007). She was the project manager of PPLD’s system-wide implementation of (Radio Frequency Identification) RFID tags (for automated inventory control) and self-check-out capabilities. She also participated in the redesign of PPLD’s internal delivery, holds, and materials processing. From 2001 to 2002, Julianne was the youth services librarian for the Lake Geneva Library in Lake Geneva WI, where she originated evening children’s programs and a summer reading program. From 1988 to 2001, she worked for the Miami-Dade Public Library System in Miami, FL in all aspects of library service, from circulation clerk to branch manager. In Miami she participated in planning and reopening of the South Dade Regional Library after Hurricane Andrew. She was part of the training and implementation team for the system when a new Integrated Library System (ILS) was installed and helped to create a train-the-trainer program. She is a member of the American Library Association and Public Library Association. She has completed the ALA/APA Certified Public Library Administrator Program. Julianne received her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa and has Bachelors of Arts in English and Dramatic Arts from Centre College in Danville KY.
