Storytelling has been part of Jewish religion and custom from earliest times, and to this day remains a defining aspect of Jewish life. The best part is that you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy these stories. With humor, warmth and wisdom, Jewish stories entertain, teach and fascinate listeners of all ages and backgrounds.
Explore Jewish culture through a fun series of stories and activities presented by Judaism in the Foothills, B’nai Chaim, Jewish Colorado and PJ Library. We’ll even send you home with a free kid’s book.

Fun Fact: Our bookmobile provides many of the same services as your local library! You can pick up requests, grab Lucky Day items, check out tablets, books, magazines and DVDs. Come on board to discover our services, learn something new about bookmobiles, and use our free WiFi.
National Bookmobile Day is an annual celebration of the contributions of our nation's bookmobiles and the dedicated professionals who make quality bookmobile outreach possible in their communities. This year it starts on Wednesday, April 13 and we’re celebrating it with a two-week open house from Tuesday, April 12, through Friday, April 22! Meet us and join the party!
All Colorado 4-year-olds can get a copy of same book this spring! JCPL is once again partnering with OneBook 4 Colorado to give away 75,000 copies of the same book (in English and Spanish) to every 4-year-old in Colorado from April 11-25 in all Jeffco library locations! Reading with preschoolers every day helps get kids ready to learn to read in kindergarten, and getting free books into homes makes that easier.
We’re also hosting a super special Toddler Time and Family Time with an extra special guest at Columbine Library on the morning of April 11, so mark your calendars and we’ll see you there!
Monday, April 4, is a day worth celebrating! It's the first day of JCPL's expanded schedule, which restores Library service hours to pre-recession levels.
Beginning Monday, JCPL’s larger libraries (Arvada, Belmar, Columbine, Evergreen, Golden, Lakewood and Standley Lake) will be open 65 hours a week (up from 51), and the smaller libraries (Conifer, Edgewater and Wheat Ridge) will be open from 40.5 to 48 hours per week.
In honor of this very special occasion, volunteers will be on hand to hand out cookies and balloons (compliments of the Library Foundation; while supplies last), and staff will be on hand to showcase other exciting enhancements, including more books and materials and updated technology.
This is an important day for JCPL and Jefferson County, and we hope you'll stop by to celebrate with us!
